Barrett Estess, LPC

As a counselor, psychotherapist, and personal coach, I’m committed to helping you develop a healthy response to stress and anxiety in a shifting, fast-paced world.

I bring to my clinical work over 10 years of practice in helping individuals and families find satisfaction within themselves and their relationships. Most individuals who seek my help are unfulfilled or stuck in some aspect of life.

I am especially effective in helping relieve anxiety and traumatic stress in addition to associated symptoms such as physical tension, agitation and destructive anger. I am practiced in treating obsessive-compulsive behavior and addiction.

My approach is person-centered, which means your experience is the basis and focus of our work together. This approach rigorously protects the dignity and value of your experience. All aspects of yourself are welcomed with respect and curiosity. This safe, compassionate atmosphere is the foundation for the power and effectiveness of your therapy.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and am licensed in the state of Texas as a Professional Counselor.

Michael Lassoff, LMSW

My goal is to help you live life with calm and acceptance, resilience in the face of difficulties, a greater sense of energy, effectiveness and elegance in living, a sense of choice and satisfaction, and improved intimacy with loved ones and friends.

The guiding principles of my therapeutic work are that human existence is fundamentally good and that our possibilities are infinite. It is our potential to have fulfilling and meaningful lives, expressed through our love and work. Therapy supports individuals realizing this potential. Therapy is effective at alleviating acute stress, relieving anxiety and depression and finding meaning in the difficulties and struggles of life. All pains are growing pains.

My training includes work with gerontology, including offering therapy to homebound seniors. Most recently, I worked as a counselor at the Houston OCD Program, where I have been part of a treatment team that uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat depression, anxiety and anxiety-related disorders.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston.

The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life. To become aware of the possibility of the search is to be onto something. Not to be onto something is to be in despair.  ― Walker Percy
