Find Relief From Traumatic Stress

Traumatic stress involves the most primitive and basic systems of human physiology—the nervous system’s impulse to fight, flee or freeze in the face of threat. Trauma occurs when the body’s self-protective responses are overwhelmed and fail to ensure the person’s safety. This results in the nervous system becoming “stuck” in experience of being in danger.  The most common symptoms of traumatic tress include anxiety, physical tension, isolation and irritability.

TWI trauma therapy works directly with the nervous system, using Somatic Experiencing to release traumatic shock or “freeze responses” stored in the body. Somatic Experiencing is a therapeutic technique that helps people recover from traumatic or overwhelming events. Somatic Experiencing is a body-based method for resolving symptoms of traumatic stress by restoring balance and resilience within the nervous system.
